I have a lot of nicknames, and Vinnie is one of them - the one that I like the most. I've been creative most of my adult life. But in more of a crafty/maker/DIY kind of way. As a letterpress printer and graphic designer for work, my true joy is found in painting. I've painted for fun a few times but it wasn't until the quarantine that I had enough time to fully immerse myself in it, and become truly inspired.
My favorite medium is acrylic painting, but I would consider myself more of a mixed media artist. You'll find sharpies, pastels, pencils, markers, and paint pens in most of my work - as well as the occasional collage. My recent work includes both abstract and floral themes.
I live with my daughter and husband in the Portage Park neighborhood of Chicago. An area that somehow feels both city and suburban.
According to my 7 year old I am:
creative, kind, and calm.
